Make the User Feel Safe and Secure With Trustful Design
First it was “software is eating the world” and then mobile apps ate the world too. Business models have changed and entire industries have fallen to the side. As these changes have occurred, users expect your software to be functional and while they get frustrated and annoyed with defects, what really turns them off is feeling unsecure in using your software. Will you steal their information? In this paper, Philip Lew discusses the importance of trust in designing the mobile interface to give users the sense of safety and security. Start with key elements that create trust and then learn how these elements can be translated into features and functions of your interface that make your users feel safe and secure and ultimately keep them coming back.
