Become a pro tester by using fault injection for testing embedded systems
Testing embedded systems can be challenging. Often time teams try to cover test coverage through black box testing. Given the nature of these products, at times it can be hard to simulate the required test environment for verifying certain features. This is sometimes considered a good enough reason to not test such features and focus only what can be easily tested.
In this talk I share a similar story where a company was going through a rough patch due to inadequate test coverage and major issues slipping into production. The animated journey illustrates some common challenges most testing teams face and how we managed to overcome those challenges.
In the process of solving our test coverage problems, we discovered how to use fault injection to drastically increase the features we could test and boost our confidence in the products we were shipping.
