Javier Fernandez-Pello is a Software Quality Test Lead in the Center of Excellence that Zurich has in Barcelona. Among others function, his main responsibility is to manage offshore testing teams.

“Bachelor of Science in Computer Information System” by the Colorado State University and “Master in Project Management” by the University of La Salle. Javier has more than six years of experience as a software quality assurance engineer performing tasks of analysis, design, planning and execution of tests in different fields.



Raúl Alares

Raul Alares is a Test Factory Lead in the Center of Excellence that Zurich has in Barcelona. Bachelor of computer sciencce by the Facutat D’Informatica de Barcelona (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya) he has 7 years of experience analysing, designing and developing software for critical and real time systems and 5 years of experience in critical and realtime software testing.



ABSTRACT

Test Factory Implementation at Zurich CoE

Stable and qualitative software can only be achieved with dedicated testing activities for covering functional and non-functional business requirements. Zurich CoE has created and implemented a Test Factory, a comprehensive quality assurance group designed specifically to create a more efficient approach for delivering software testing activities in order to cover organization goals.

The Test Factory improves the overall test process capability by giving the effective solutions which would be in time, budget and quality. It helps testing and application development service providers drive the evolution of their service delivery to new levels of efficiency and competitiveness. The Test Factory business model also has immediate and direct impact on all facets of the testing activities organization.
