ABSTRACT

Lessons learned in Test- and Configuration Management (Track A)

At the start of projects, a lot of attention is paid to requirements and architecture. A positive trend is that more and more projects are thinking about the test-strategy in advance. However less attention is paid during the project start-up concerning configuration management, since it is considered as a supporting process. Of course a CM-tool will be purchased and an archive will be generated, but a clear coherent configuration management approach throughout the project is often missing.

A result of this can be that drastic measures are needed during the project in order the get the project back on track again. In this presentation the lessons learned regarding configuration management in relation to test management in large projects will be presented.
