QA&Test 2012

Silvia Nuñez                  David Santin

Last Friday QA&Test 2012 edition ended. As in previous years, we have enjoyed three full days of presentations with high technical content and training together with professionals from around the world who have created an excellent atmosphere.

Day 1…

started with two tutorials in parallel. The first was taught by Bryan Baker “Scrum and Testing … the end of the test role?” and in the second Gary Draishpits and Shmuel Gershon  spoke about “Advanced Test Design Techniques: Embedded Systems & Combinatorial KDT Exploratory testing”. After lunch, Lynn McKee presented us an excellent keynote in which she emphasized the importance of Mindmapping tools in our work. We ended the first day with the presentations belonging to the tracks QA Management and QA & Testing Practices in Industrial Sectors.

Day 2…

was also full of brilliant presentations included within the thematic tracks “Test Automation” and “Testing Mobile devices and applications”. After getting together in the lunch offered in the Euskalduna, the day continued with the presentations of the tracks “Verification and Validation” and “Testing Real Time Systems”. This second day of QA&Test concluded with a panel involving the presenters Bryan Bakker, Lynn McKee and Jan Jaap Cannegieter and moderated by the General Manager of SQS, Begoña Laibarra. This forum, which discussed the future of testing and the role of tester, generated a lot of interaction between panelists and audience. During Thursday night we enjoyed a dinner in the Bilbaina Society, where the speakers, participants and organization of the conference could sit together and share their experience.

Day 3…

started with a great keynote given by  Derk-Jan de Grood, entitled “Testing for the business, it’s a people’s job” whose presentation is available on our website. QA&Test closed the eleventh edition with the tracks “Test Team Organisation” and “Testing Techniques”. After the closing ceremony and a cocktail, we said goodbye to all those who made possible once again the successful edition of QA&Test. We hope QA&Test 2012 has been beneficial to all participants because of the training content and the professional network established.
We remind that on November 20th we launch the call for papers for the 12th edition of QA&Test and we invite you to send your suggestions about the content you want to be included the program through our mail info@qatest.org

From QA&Test organization, we want to extend our appreciation to all who have contributed to this eleventh edition: technical committee, speakers, associations and media support. We count on you for the next edition, for which we have started working today.

See you in QA&Test 2013!!
